Alia Bhatt was born on 15 March 1993 is a British-Indian actress and singer who works in Indian Hindi Movies. She is one of the highest-paid actresses of India, her accolades include four Filmfare Awards. She has come off in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2014 and was starred by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2017.
Alia Bhatt was born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai into the Bhatt family to Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Her father is of Gujarati descent and her mother is of Kashmiri Pandit and German ancestry. She clenches British citizenship. She has an elder sister, Shaheen and two half-siblings, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Actor Emraan Hashmi and director Mohit Suri are her paternal cousins. Alia was educated at the Jamnabai Narsee School.
Her first acting role was at age five in her father’s production enterprise Sangharsh (1999), in which she crisply played the younger edition of Preity Zinta’s character.
Alia had her first directing role in 2012 with Karan Johar’s movie Student of the Year, along with Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Student of the Year raised ₹960 million (US$13 million) at the box office, coming to be a commercial success.
For her movie, Highway (2014), she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She also earned Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her characters in Udta Punjab (2016), Raazi (2018) and Gully Boy (2019).
