A popular face in the Telugu film industry, Tollywood, Veeramachaneni Jagapathi Chowdary who is popularly known as Jagapathi Babu, is an actor who works majorly in the Tollywood Cinemas. He has also been featured in a few Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam movies. He has shown his acting caliber in more than 120 films across multi-languages. He is also an awards magnet as he has bagged four Filmfares as well as seven state Nandi Awards, wow he is such an excellency in his craft of acting.
Jagapthi Babu, a massive name now has debuted in the movie industry in 1989 through a Telugu movie- “Simha Swapnam” but the film gave him name and fame came three years later after his debut, Peddarikam in 1992. He got his next big break in a Ram Gopal Verma film Gaayam the very next year in 1993. He took no time to announce to the world that he is here to stay for long with his blockbuster Subha Lingam, making audiences, his fans.
After ruling two decades in the Telugu film industry, Jagapathi Babu decided to extend his area of work and did his first Tamil movie, Madrasi in 2012 and he played the antagonist in another Tamil film Thaandavam. His debut in the Sandalwood, Kannada film industry made it very clear that Jagapathi Babu is unstoppable when it comes to trying new things. He played a cop in his first Kannada film, Bachchan.
Babu took a complete toss in his choice of scripts, and he calls this a “second-innings in his film career. One, who until then was a protagonist or hero as we popularly say in filmy lingo, decided to play only villains to show the large scale of extremes that he has in himself. He played a cold-hearted and ruthless don in Legend in 2014 and had rocked the Telugu Cinema with his versatility and range of acting.
