Kajal Aggarwal was born on 19 June 1985 and is an Indian film actress and model. She has ascertained a career in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films and has been selected for four Filmfare Awards. She started her acting debut in the 2004 Hindi film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… and had her first Telugu film released in 2007, Lakshmi Kalyanam. In 2020, a wax figure of Aggarwal was exhibited at Madame Tussauds Singapore, making her the first actress from South Indian cinema
Aggarwal was born and brought up in a Punjabi family and lived in Bombay. Her father Suman Aggarwal is an entrepreneur in the textile business and her mother Vinay Aggarwal is a confectioner. Kajal has a younger sister Nisha Aggarwal, who is an actress in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. She had married Karan Valecha (Managing director Golds gyms, Asia).
She studied at St. Anne’s High School, fort, and finalized her pre-university education at Jai Hind College. She followed her graduation in mass media, with a specialization in marketing and advertising, from Kishinchand Chellaram College.
Kajal made her acting debut in the 2004 Bollywood film “Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na”, in which she had a secondary supporting role. She appeals up to veteran Tamil director Bharathiraja’s Bommalattam, alongside Arjun Sarja. She made her debut in the Telugu film industry and played her first leading role in 2007 in Teja’s Lakshmi Kalyanam, with Kalyan Ram. Later, she appeared in the Krishna Vamsi-directed Chandamama, which unlocked positive reviews and became her first important successful film.
Kajal’s first 2010 release was A. Karunakaran’s romantic comedy movie Darling, which starred her alongside Prabhas and obtained a favorable acknowledgment, becoming a commercial success at the box office.
In 2011, she was paired with Prabhas for the next time in the romantic comedy movie Mr. Perfect, supervised by Dasaradh. The film came to be a critical and commercial success. Her performance as a conservative doctor and her chemistry with Prabhas was praised by the viewers.
