Mukundan Nair and Roji Mukundan’s son Unni Mukundan was born on September 22, 1987. Karthika, his older sister, is his only sibling. He was raised in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, despite being Malayali by birth. He used to work with Motif, which is now known as TTEC, back in the day. He is an Indian film actor who is best known for his work in Malayalam movies. He has also appeared in Tamil and Telugu movies. 


Unni debuted in the Tamil film Seedan, a remake of the Malayalam film Nandanam, in 2011. Unni made her Malayalam film debut opposite Mammootty in Bombay on March 12, directed by Babu Janardhanan. SIIMA, Asianet Film Awards, Asiavision, Jaihind TV, Amrita TV, and Vanitha Film Awards all named him best newcomer for his role in Bombay on March 12. In T. K. Rajeev Kumar’s Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, he played a supporting role. Vyshakh’s film Mallu Singh (2012) provided Unni with his turning point. The film was a massive success, running for over 100 days. In the films Theevram and Hitlist, he made guest appearances. In the same year, he starred in B Unnikrishnan’s Ezham Suryan and I Love Me. In 2014, he starred in Vinil’s The Last Supper, which was a box office flop. In the same year, he made a comeback as one of the titular characters in Lal Jose’s mega-hit film Vikramadithyan, alongside Dulquer Salmaan. “Unni Mukundan has made a huge comeback with this Lal Jose directorial,” wrote an Ibtimes reviewer. He made his acting debut in the Mammootty-starrer Fireman, directed by Deepu Karunakaran, in 2015. In the same year, he starred in Samrajyam II: Son of Alexander as Jordan, Alexander’s son who was the protagonist in the prequel. KL 10 Patthu, written and directed by debutant Muhsin Parari, was his next release. 

In 2016, he starred in the action-thriller Style, which was a good commercial success. After that, he appeared in the critically acclaimed films Kaattum Mazhayum and Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya, both of which were fantasy romantic comedies. He made his Tollywood debut in the film Janatha Garage, playing Raghava, Sathyam’s son, in an antagonistic role (Mohanlal). The film was a box office success as well as a critical darling. It was the year’s highest-grossing Telugu film.

He debuted as a lyricist and singer in the 2017 film Achayans. Along with Jayaram and Adil Ibrahim, he played one of the lead roles in the film, which was a commercial success. In 2018, he and Anuskha Shetty co-starred in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Bhaagamathie, which was a commercial and critical success. His next two films, Ira and Chanakyathanthram, were both thrillers. Both films were critically acclaimed and financially successful.

Haneef Adeni’s Mikhael was his first 2019 release, in which he played the antagonist Marco Jr. He’ll also appear in Vishnu Mohan’s Meppadiyan, a film based on true events, and Khiladi, a Telugu film.
